English Championship side Stoke City no longer attract the attention they had when they were in the Premier League seasons back.
During their time when they mixed it with the England big boys, Stoke had one of the best-assembled teams before they were relegated in season 2017/18 after collecting 33 points in the entire season.
The relegated side had a series of players who had featured in the Champions League. They were players who not only featured in the preliminary stages but went through the semifinal of the competition in different seasons.
After Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting scored the goal on Wednesday night against Atalanta that propelled PSG to the semifinal of the competition this season, he is set to be just one of the Stoke players to have had played in the stage.
If he features in the semi-final, that relegated Stoke squad will have been represented at the semi-final stage of the Champions League in 12 of the last 17 seasons.
