Leroy Sane reveals player he wants to emulate at Bayern Munich

Leroy Sane says he wants to emulate Bayern Munich legend, Arjen Robben.

Sane joined Munich this summer signing a five-year deal until 30th June 2025. The Germany international will inherit Robben's number 10 jersey after the winger left the Bavarians last summer.

"My favorite position's on the right-wing, that's where I feel most comfortable," Sane told Kicker.

"But I've got no problem on the left. At City, I usually played on the left; in my youth and at Schalke, on the right. Pep [Guardiola] pushed me to the left, it helped me. Many players can only play on one side…"

"The No.10 means a lot to me," Sane continued. "It's still very well respected, many great players have worn it. For me, 10 is a little extra motivation." And will he cut inside from the right and score with his left, like Robben? "I hope it will happen every now and then," he concluded with a smile.

Sane's four years at the Etihad Stadium were a success as he scored 39 goals in 135 appearances, with 45 assists. He won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two League Cups.
