France legend Marcel Desailly collected winner's medals wherever he went in Europe throughout a brilliant career.
Desailly was born in Accra, Ghana on September 7th 1968. He enjoyed a 20-year professional career spanning from 1986 all the way to his retirement in 2006 where he finished his playing days in Qatar.
Desailly was nicknamed "The Rock" because of his strength, consistency and uncompromising, tough-tackling style. He goes down as one of the finest defenders of his generation and one of the finest players to ever represent Les Bleus. He also successfully filled in as a defensive midfielder during his highly productive and successful spell at AC Milan, with the crowning moment arriving in the 1994 Champions League final, where Desailly got the better of Pep Guardiola as underdogs Milan hammered a star-studded Barcelona team 4-0 in Athens.
