Anderlecht could face transfer ban over Frank Acheampong transfer

Anderlecht could potentially be handed a transfer ban by FIFA following their failure to play Thailand side Buriram United over Frank Acheampong's switch to China.

Acheampong played for Buriram United for approximately two years before making his way to Belgium in the summer of 2013.

Due to being owned by the club, the release clause stipulated that the Thai side would receive 15% of Acheampong's transfer.

Anderlecht shipped the Ghana international out on loan Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda before making a sale of €3.5 million for his signature.

The Belgian side is now expected to pay Buriram €375,500 including interest of € 49,500.
