The name Alwande Roaldsoy is set to become a big one in South African football after signing for one of Italy’s leading clubs.
The 16-year-old Roaldsoy, born in Norway to a South African mom and Norwegian dad, is the new lanky central midfielder of the Serie A club.
“I have some butterflies in my stomach, but this will be fun, I have been received very well,” Roaldsøy told the club’s website, as quoted by FarPost.
“This is the best academy in Italy. I thought I was not going to get any better deals than this and then I took the chance – I told myself just jump in there,” he added.
Meanwhile the young deep-lying midfielder will be expected to first prove his quality in the youth sides in the hope of fast tracking his Serie A debut as soon as possible.
