Saint-Etienne centre-back Wesley Fofana has reportedly rejected a new contract at the club as he aims to secure a move to Leicester City.
“Fofana is in a good club to continue his growth with Saint-Etienne and will stay there to continue growing,” Puel said, quoted by Calciomercato.
Fofana on the other hand is of the mind to leave the Ligue 1 club to continue with his development at a bigger club.
“I’d be crazy to say no to Leicester. I am aware of taking a risk by leaving early abroad, but I’m determined and mentally ready. By putting in that sum Leicester are proving they really want me,” Fofana told.
Fofana registered two goals in 24 appearances across all competitions last season.
