FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman is happy in seeing Lionel Messi back in the team after their friendly on Saturday.
Messi managed 45 minutes in Barcelona’s win over Nastic this being his first appearance after his transfer saga and according to Koeman, the player has shown the same spirit since returning to training.
"He's shown the same spirit as in the first day. He's training well and did the same on our day off. He knows that he has to improve physically, like everyone, but his quality speaks for itself," Koeman said.
The friendly came at a time when Barcelona is being linked with a team shakeup with the likes of Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal expected to leave; this after they parted ways with midfielder Ivan Rakitic who returned to Sevilla.
Koeman is said to be keen on the Dutch duo of Gini Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay but no concrete offer has been made yet for the players.
Barcelona's next game is against Girona in a friendly clash on Wednesday before opening their season with a tie against Villareal next weekend.
