European Roundup: Red Cards in France, United’s Chong shines in Germany as Granada shocks Bilbao

With the Premier League Kicking off in the weekend, it was an action-filled drama in the other league across Europe.

The major talking point on Monday has been in the League One game involving Paris Saint Germain and Marseille that has everyone talking.

The game saw five red cards dished after an injury-time brawl; Neymar being among those who were shown their marching orders. Home substitutes Leandro Paredes and Layvin Kurzawa, and Marseille's Jordan Amavi and Dario Benedetto were dismissed along with Neymar.

Florian Thauvin scored the only goal as PSG lost their opening two league games for the first time since 1984-85.

Apart from the PSG and Marseille drama, former Southampton boss Claude Puel pushed St Etienne to the top spot of the league with a 2-0 victory over Strasbourg.

Denis Bouanga opened the scoring from the penalty spot at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and Mahdi Camara wrapped up the points eight minutes from time.
