Cesc Fàbregas has enjoyed a distinguished career at the highest level for over 16 years.
The Monaco man made his 800th senior appearance over the weekend (club & country) in the principality club's 2-1 win over Nantes. That's a staggering amount, seeing as though it feels like just yesterday that he was striding out on his Arsenal debut as a 16-year-old in 2003.
A lot has happened in that 17-year-period. He has captained Arsenal at the age of 21, moved back to his hometown club Barcelona, returned to the Premier League and won two top-flight titles with Chelsea and racked up trophy and stat-tallies to make any player jealous. Only Ryan Giggs has provided more assists in Premier League history than Fàbregas.
He was also a key component in Spain's Golden Generation that won Euro 2008, World Cup 2010 and Eur 2012. We are unlikely to ever see such utter domination on the international stage ever again. It was Fabregas who supplied the pass for Andres Iniesta's winner in the World Cup final at the Kalabash a decade ago.
