Sampdoria defender Omar Colley opens goal-scoring account in preseason friendly win

The Gambia international Omar Colley was on the scoresheet for Sampdoria in their 3-0 victory over Piacenza in a preseason friendly.

Colley opened the scoreline for Sampdoria in the 18th minute followed by goals Federico Bonazzoli and Medhi Pascal Marcel Leris for the Serie A side to secure a fine start to their season preparations.

The Gambia international has been linked with moves to Premier League trio Southampton, Newcastle United, West Ham and Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

The 27-year-old registered one assist in 32 appearances across all competitions last season as Sampdoria secured a 15th finish on the Serie A standings to remain in top-flight football for another season.

The defender has previously plied his trade for KuPS (Finland), Djurgardens (Sweden) and Genk (Belgium).
