Serie A giants Juventus might turn to Chelsea FC striker Olivier Giroud if they are to fail to get Edin Dzeko and Luis Suarez from AS Roma and Barcelona.
Juve is looking for a striker after parting ways with Gonzalo Higuain who is expected to sign with David Beckham's MLS franchise Inter Miami in the next few days.
Now Sky Sports reports that the Andrea Pirlo coached side have made Dzeko their No 1 target but Roma will not let their captain go without a replacement.
There have been reports that Roma is close to agreeing on a deal to sign Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik on a loan deal with obligation to buy for an overall fee of almost £23m.
The other option has been Suarez but Barcelona won’t let go of the Uruguayan striker unless they get Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. There are claims that Suarez will sit an Italian citizenship test this week to obtain an EU passport which would facilitate his move to Turin as the club seeks to terminate his contract.
With the challenges expected on the duo, Sky says that Giroud would represent a more immediate option to both Suarez and Dzeko and Juventus will firm up their interest with an offer should it take too long to pursue them.
Despite having signed a new one year deal with Chelsea in the summer, Giroud finds himself down the pecking order after the arrival of Timo Werner and the presence of Tammy Abraham and a move to a team that will guarantee him more playing time ahead of the Euros next year will be welcomed.
The Serie A season gets underway this weekend with Juventus hosting Sampdoria on Sunday night.
