Tottenham have signed highly-rated left-back Sergio Reguilon, with Jose Mourinho securing a deal worth a reported £28 million ($36m) for the Spain international.
The 23-year-old was surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu despite an impressive season on loan at Europa League winners Sevilla.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane considered both Marcelo and Ferland Mendy ahead of Reguilon in the pecking order though and was happy to allow his third-choice option to leave.
Zidane said on Saturday: "We must congratulate Reguilon on the season he had [at Sevilla].
"We have two players per position and I already have two full-backs. I wish him all the best because he had a good season in Seville and he deserves to be at Tottenham."
