Manchester United have lost their first game of the season for the first time in six years, after being humbled by Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Palace entirely deserved the win, despite their slightly dubious second goal, making it 2 out of 2 in their first games of the season.
Manchester United 0-1 Crystal Palace (Townsend 7')
This goal had been coming and United just hadn't started the game off well.
Tyrick Mitchell dinked the ball down the line to send Jeff Schlupp on his way and the winger's low cross was then tucked in at the far post by Andros Townsend, who got there in front of Luke Shaw.
Manchester United 0-2 Crystal Palace (Zaha 74' Pen.)
It looked really harsh, but the ball did hit Victor Lindelof's arm and if that happens, you always run the risk of conceding a penalty.
Lindelof couldn't have known much about it, but Palace had a chance to get a two-goal lead.
It was a really poor penalty from Ayew.
A nonchalant, casual run-up, and the strike had little power, making it easy for de Gea to save it.
VAR, however, had a look and De Gea was off his line. It must have been a matter of inches, but there was a retake!
With the regular penalty-taker off the pitch in Luka Milivojevic, it was Zaha who stepped up next and rifled his shot high above United to double Palace's lead against his former club.
Manchester United 1-2 Crystal Palace (van de Beek 80')
What a debut!
The ball bounced around the Palace area, and they could not get it cleared. It then fell to the debutant Donny van de Beek at the far post, who calmly steered it home.
Manchester United 1-3 Crystal Palace (Zaha 84')
Zaha beat Lindelof to the ball before cutting across the edge of the box.
He lets fly, drilling a fine effort into the bottom corner, and there was no chance for De Gea, who stood beaten.
