Laliga giants FC Barcelona have lined up replacements for defender Nelson Semedo who is said to be on his way to Wolves.
Semedo is being considered a surplus to requirements at Barca and as of Sunday, Wolves is said to have made a bid for the player with the club keen to replace Matt Doherty who moved to Spurs this window.
It has been reported that Ronald Koeman could move for Ajax defender Sergino Dest or Real Betis’ Emerson should Semedo leave the club for the Premier League.
According to the BBC, United States international Dest, who is said to be attracting interest from Bayern Munich too, could be available for around €20m, if Barcelona can fight off interest from Bayern Munich.
Barcelona does have a €6m purchase option on Brazilian international Emerson, as part of their co-ownership agreement with Real Betis with another option for Koeman being in Norwich City’s Max Aarons, with the Championship club open to offers in the region of €25m.
Daniel Farke claimed he will fight to keep Aarons if an offer is received, but the England U21 international is only a backup option for Koeman.
Wolves today will complete the signing of Nelson Semedo on a permanent deal. He’s gonna sign until June 2025. Douglas Costa rumours atm are *not* confirmed by agents, Juventus and not even by Wolves. Juve want to sell him but have not received any bid yet. 🔴 #Wolves #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) September 20, 2020
