Aston Villa started their2020/21 Premier League with a narrow, yet satisfying 1-0 win against Sheffield United at the Villa Park on Monday night.
New signing Emiliano Martinez was the star of the show, saving a penalty in the 34th minute before Ezri Konsa scored the lone goal on the 63rd minute.
The match however got to a dramatic start as the visitors were reduced to 10 men, following the dismissal of John Egan on the 12th minute.

John Lundstram stepped up to take it, but Martinez, who was signed last week, made a perfect save, his first ever as a Villan.
The goal then came in the 63rd minute as Tyrone Mings got up really well from the corner and headed the ball into the six-yard box where Konsa glanced a header into the net.
Villa almost added to their tally late in the dying minutes, with Jack Grealish missing two excellent chances.
Despite missing the opportunities, Villa held on to pick three important points as they got their season underway.
