Southampton has confirmed that forward Sofiane Boufal has left the club for French side Angers on a free transfer.
A statement from the Saints noted: “Sofiane Boufal has today completed a move to French side Angers, Southampton Football Club can confirm.
“The 27-year-old Moroccan has made the switch to the Ligue 1 team on a free transfer, with Saints retaining a sell-on fee clause.”
Angers have started strongly this season in the league with the team who finished 11th in the top-flight last season, winning three of their opening six matches.
The player who joined the club in 2016 leaves Southampton having made 84 appearances, scoring five goals in the process.
