There is a confusion in the Liverpool team after Naby Keita’s latest Covid tests returned negative.
It had been reported that the midfielder had tested positive while on duty with the Guinea national team but there’s now suggests it may have been a false positive.
The Reds fans had been worried about Keita with the player becoming the latest first-team individual to contract the virus after those of Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane.
The development forced Keita to train alone and there were fears that he would miss the Merseyside derby over the weekend but latest reports from journalist Amadou Makadji, Keita has tested negative and should be available for his clubs starting this weekend.
With the confusion, the player is expected to be tested again when he returns to his club to ensure his involvement against the Toffees would be safe.
The news comes just hours after the team confirmed that Alcantara had returned to training after featuring only once for the club (against Chelsea) and Mane billed to feature for the club in the Everton clash.
Naby Keita have had another test today. He is negative and he has been allowed to leave the training camp of Syli National in Portugal this night. He will join Liverpool where he might undergo another test.— Amadou Makadji™ 🇬🇳 (@ThAmadouMakadji) October 13, 2020
