Everton have reportedly ended their association with Switzerland international Shani Tarashaj after he completed a two-year loan move to FC Emmen.
According to Liverpool Echo, Tarashaj had already been halfway through his two-year loan deal in the Netherlands before Emmen announced on their social media platforms that his stay had been abruptly cut short.
The 25-year-old returned to Everton only to be released by the Toffees with his contract due to expire at the end of June 2021.
The Swiss forward did not make any appearance for the Toffees despite having completed a £3million move in January 2016.
Tarashaj made the most appearances for Swiss side Grasshopper Club Zurich where he registered 14 goals and four assists in 69 appearances across all competitions.
He also featured for Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt where he managed one goal in 15 appearances across all competitions.
Upon making the move to Emmen, Tarashaj only featured for the U21 team and no senior appearance.
