Bayern Munich sporting director sheds light on Coman to Manchester United rumours

Bayern Munich Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has said Manchester United were never interested in signing winger Kingsley Coman during the summer.

The winger, who has been at the Bundesliga champions for the last five seasons, was reportedly on the  Manchester club's wishlist, even though no official offer was made.

United were in the market for an established winger and were linked with a number of top players after their failed bid to sign Jadon Sancho.

Speaking on Thursday, Salihamidzic said there was no contact from any club over the 24-year-old, adding they would not have accepted any bids.

“There was nothing, and we wouldn’t have looked into it either. His goal in the Champions League final should explain enough why we are relying on him wholeheartedly,” Salihamidzic told Sport Bild.

Coman arrived at the Allianz Arena on an initial loan from Italian side Juventus, before the  Bundesliga champions turned the deal into a permanent one two years later.

He has become a key member of the squad and scored the lone goal as Bayern beat Paris Saint-Germain  1-0 to lift the Champions League trophy.
