The 2020/21 DStv Premiership starts this Saturday with the MTN8 final eight games, which includes the tasty calsh between Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City in Soweto.
Both sides have added some exciting new players to improve the team from last season, especially Orlando Pirates. Whether the new players will be featured or not, an MTN8 semi final place needs to be earned this evening.
For the home side, it would not be surprising to see the hugely experienced Thulani Hlatshwayo going straight in to start for Bucs, while Deon Hotto, whose direct style is deeply needed in a Pirates attack that tends to ponder too much, should probably start. Other new additions such as Wayde Jooste, Collins Makgaka as well as Terrence Dzvukamanja could make appearances too. Pirates’ midfield will also improve tenfold with the addition of the vigorous Thabang Monare, but coach Josef Zinnbauer revealed that the hard-tackling workhorse is not yet fully fit.
On the opposite side, Cape Town City’s biggest transfer was the exit of Kermit Erasmus rather than who has come in. Though Aubrey Ngoma was nominated as the league’s Player of the Season in 2016/17, he hardly made 10 appearances at Mamelodi Sundowns last season, a start will be a surprise.
Pirates: Sandilands, Nyauza, Jele, Hlatshwayo, Maela, Motshwari, Makaringe, Pule, Hotto, Lorch, Mhango.
City: Leeuwenburgh, Mkhize, Mobara, Fielies, Edmilson, Mdantsane, Makola, Roberts, Ralani, Martin, Lakay.
Match kick off will be 18:00 at the Orlando Stadium.
