Liverpool will be without the services of midfielder Thiago Alcantara for their Wednesday Champions League clash against Ajax.
It has been reported that the Spanish midfielder suffered a knee injury after a dangerous challenge from Everton’s Richarlison in the drawn Merseyside derby on the weekend with the latter getting a red card for his troubles.
The Liverpool Echo reports that even though the player had no damage on his leg after the clash, manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to rest the player ahead of their league games.
The club will the gauge the fitness levels of the player ahead of their clash against Sheffield United in the league on Saturday with the latest news being a blow to Liverpool who is already without defender Virgil van Dijk for a long-term injury.
