🚨 BREAKING: Chelsea name Petr Cech in their Premier League squad

Chelsea FC has named 38-year-old Petr Cech in their Premier League squad for the 2020/21 season.

The 38-year-old, who now works as the club's technical and performance advisor, has been described by Chelsea as "a precautionary step due to the unprecedented conditions currently caused by the Covid-19 crisis".

A statement on Chelsea’s website noted: “Petr Čech has been included in the squad as emergency goalkeeper cover.

“This is a precautionary step due to the unprecedented conditions currently caused by the Covid-19 crisis. He takes up a position as a non-contract player.”

The keeper has been out of action since May 209 after the Europa League final between Chelsea and Arsenal; a game the latter lost when he was in goal.

Premier League sides were required to submit their final 25-man Premier League squads on today (October 20).
