Alvaro Morata scored a brace in the second half to help Juventus to a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in their Champions’ League Group G opener staged at Olympskiy Stadium on Tuesday night.
In a drab first half, it was the visitors who had a host of chances with Federico Chiesa forcing Dynamo goalkeeper Georgi Bushchan into a smart low save in the 12th minute; Juve coming close again minutes later when defender Leonardo Bonucci headed just wide after Bushchan flapped at a corner.
The Serie A giants best chance in the first half came Aaron Ramsey played a good ball to Dejan Kulusevki and the 20-year-old flicked effort forced Buschan to a smart save.
The lead, however, came 50 seconds after the resumption when Kulusevki's low placed shot on the edge of the box was parried out by Buschan only for Morata to bury the rebound. The teams continued not to have so much spark with no shot on target from both ends until the 84th minute when Morata met Juan Cuadrado's fine cross with a firm header into the bottom corner.
