The Champions League clash between Club Brugge and Lazio is in jeopardy as eleven players from the latter missed training due to Covid fears.
The Italian side is due to head to Belgium to face Brugge on Wednesday but as The Athletic reporter James Horncastle states on Twitter, a total of 11 first-team players are currently unavailable.
Corriere Dello Sport further reports that the problems have arisen from UEFA’s pre-game COVID swabbing, which suggests that there could be a huge breakout in the Lazio dressing room; the move leaving them with only 12 players available for tomorrow’s game.
A press release from UEFA and Lazio is expected before the day ends to clear the air on the claims with the latest development coming just days after the Italian government promised to engage strict measures in combating the virus.
