Sergio Romero has been offered a chance to leave Manchester United and rejoin his former club Racing Club de Avellaneda by their president Victor Blanco.
Romero has been left out of United's Premier League and Champions League squad for this season after he fell down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. David de Gea is the club's first-choice goalkeeper with Dean Henderson coming second while Lee Grant is the third.
As re[prted by the Daily Star, Blanco has offered Romero the chance to re-join his former club but will need to take a major pay cut.
Speaking to Radio Colonia earlier this month, Racing chief Blanco said: "I dream of bringing Chiquito [Romero], but he has to come with the conviction of wanting to return, knowing that he’s not going to earn in dollars or the amount of money he earns in Europe".
The 33-year-old's contract at Old Trafford is set to at the end of the current season with reports suggesting that United are seeking to terminate his deal.
