Algeria stunned Zimbabwe 3-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier in Group H clash staged at 1962 Stadium.
Algeria made it three out three wins in Group H and now are at the top with nine points.
After a promising start, Algeria took the lead in the 31st minute through Baghdad Bounedjah. The hosts had a nice build-up from the midfield before Sofiane Feghouli went past a number of Zimbabwe players then unleashed a long shot that was punched by Elvis Chipezee. Bounedjah reacted quickly to score from six-yard, handing his side the lead.
Two minutes to half time, Sofiane Feghouli doubled Algeria's advantage with a lovely header. A cross was delivered on the right side and Luvinga could not contain Riyad Mahrez with the Manchester City winger twisting and turning before he delivered a beauty in the box. It was met by unmarked Feghouli, who headed past Chipezee.
In the second half, Riyad Mahrez worked the ball past the middle of the field, went past two players before relating a pass that was cut by a sliding defender. The ball fell back to Mahrez and made a touch that saw him in Zimbabwe's box, and chipped the ball beyond the oncoming keeper to make it 3-0.
In the 79th minute, Tino Kadewere pulled one back for the visitors, a goal that turned out to be a consolation.
