Leicester City are believed to have been interested in retaining the services of Real Betis midfielder William Carvalho according to reports.
However, Real Betis were demanding €30 million/£27 million for the Portugal international and that is money the Foxes were unable to part with at the time.
Carvalho joined Betis in the summer of 2018 from Portuguese outfit Sporting CP having kickstarted his career through the club's academy ranks.
The 28-year-old has since registered 65 appearances, scoring two goals and providing five assists in the process.
It remains to be seen if Leicester will revive their interest ahead of the January transfer window, provided they meet Real Betis' asking price.
