Gor Mahia have confirmed Posta Rangers manager Sammy Omollo will stand-in against APR of Rwanda in a CAF Champions League preliminary match.
Omollo will stand-in for Gor Mahia tactician Roberto Oliveira Goncalves, who does not have the right qualification papers to be on the bench for any Caf and FKF Premier League matches.
Club Chairman Ambrose Rachier, in a statement, confirmed the latest development and stated that plans are also underway to equalize coach Oliviera’s qualifications at CAF.
“We have settled on Sammy Omollo to be the stand-in coach for the team in Rwanda as we try to sort out the current coach’s (Roberto) issue with CAF. That means Sammy will lead the technical bench as Roberto is not allowed to be on the touchline until the issue is sorted” noted Rachier.
Gor will face the Rwandan side in the preliminary round of the Champions League on November 28 in Kigali.
