Carlos Tevez to retire after Boca Juniors win the Copa Libertadores

Former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that he will hang up his boots when Boca Juniors secure the Copa Libertadores title.

Tevez returned to Boca Juniors in 2018 where it would be his third spell with the club that he kickstarted his career with.

The 36-year-old joined Juventus from City before making his way to Boca Juniors in the 2015/16 season and then left to sign with Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua in 2017.

Apart from Man City, Tevez also played for Manchester United where he registered 34 goals and 14 assists in 99 career appearances.

He also featured for West Ham United where he made 29 appearances while scoring five goals and provided five assists in the process.

In total, the Argentina international amassed 202 Premier League appearances, 84 goals and 41 assists before plying his trade in the Serie A and the Chinese Super League respectively.

Tevez has several honours to his name but his prominent has come through being awarded the South American Footballer of the Year three times, the Footballer of the Year of Argentina twice, and the Argentine Sportsperson of the Year once.

He has also been named in the South American Team of the Year three times.
