Manchester United 4-1 Başakşehir: Red Devils a point away from advancing to knock out stages

Manchester United secured a comfortable 4-1 win over visiting side Istanbul Başakşehir in the return leg of the Champions League.

United took the lead in the seventh minute and it was a stunning strike from the in-form Bruno Fernandes. Telles' cross was flicked off the head of Edinson Cavani by Alexandru Epureanu but the ball set up perfectly for Fernandes to half-volley his shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.

In the 19th minute, Fernandes grabbed his brace. Cavani laid the ball out wide to Alex Telles to cross and as the Uruguayan raced into the box to try to meet the cross, Gunok spilled it straight to the feet of Fernandes, who finished first time into the unguarded net.

The strike marked his 21st goal in 35 appearances for United in all competitions.

The Red Devils were then handed a penalty after Marcus Rashford was brought down inside the penalty area. Despite Fernandes being on a hattrick, it was Rashford who stepped up and made no mistake from the spot.

In the second half, Turuk pulled one back for the visitors as goal-line technology was needed to approve the strike. There were several players standing over that ball and in the end, Deniz Turuc surprised De Gea with his left-foot around the wall and beyond the line as the Spaniard belatedly parried it out after the ball had crossed.

United grabbed fourth in injury time, it was a brilliant counter from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, Van de Beek with a perfectly weighted pass to Greenwood, who centered for James to tap in.

That's it - a professional performance from Man Utd, who now need just a point from their final two games against PSG and RB Leipzig to qualify.
