English Premier League newbies Leeds United have been given a chance to sign Barcelona youngster Puig on loan.
Reports from 90Min state that Barcelona doesn’t want to sell one of their most prized assets on a permanent deal and while Puig isn’t in Ronald Koeman’s plans, the club feels a loan deal to another club will give him the much needed playing time in aid of his development.
Puig has only played three minutes in La Liga this term and wants to go out on loan with Real Betis being the other club said to be interested in his services; the La Masia graduate expected to leave the club in January.
Puig confessed to COPE back in October that he dreams of making it into Spain's squad for next summer's European Championships and that would mean he has to play regular football with RB Leipzig and Monaco touted to be following keenly on the developments at Barca.
The player has found minutes hard to come by at Camp Nou due to the presence of Frenkie de Jong, Sergio Busquets and Miralem Pjanic who are Koeman’s preferred midfield options. He however featured for the club in their Wednesday Champions league tie against Kyiv.
