DStv Premiership side SuperSport United have announced the shock exit of veteran defender Clayton Daniels.
The decision comes as big drama after the 36-year-old Daniels played five games from the club's seven games this season. Additionally, Daniels have been the club for six years where he has won four major titles: Nedbank Cup X2, MTN 8 and Telkom Knockout.
"SuperSport United Football club have mutually agreed the termination of long-term defender Clayton Daniels with immediate effect," said the club's announcement.

The club further revealed that the decision was reached after the two parties failed to agree on the length of a new contract.
"The club has agreed to release the player as we couldn’t agree on a new contract length. SuperSport United has made clear its intention of using this season to blood young players from its MDC structures," added the club.
It remains to be seen where the Cape-born player will move to, with the closed transfer window not going to affect him as a free agent.
Matsatsantsa's remaining central defenders are Bongani Khumalo (33), Luke Fleurs (20), Thatayaone Ditlhokwe (22), and the versatile Grant Kekana (28).
