Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour is set to be available for selection when his side takes on Sevilla in the Champions League according to head coach Frank Lampard.
Gilmour, who has been on the sidelines with an injury is now fully fit and Lampard has revealed the 19-year-old has been included in the squad that travels to Spain. The London side has already qualified and will be battling with Sevilla who secures tops the group.
"We are fully fit and ready to go," he told the press.
"Yes, we will look at making changes to the side and I’ll have to do that for different reasons. Some players have been playing a lot and it’s been a hectic schedule and will be a busy period over the next few weeks."
"On the other side of that, the players who haven’t been playing as much recently have been training really well. We have players who are knocking on the door to play. I don’t expect a drop in level but there will be a chance for them to feature. We’ve already qualified from the group but we won’t be taking this game lightly."
"Billy is fit now. He could probably do with some more match minutes, which are hard to get behind the scenes in Covid times due to the way the bubbles are set up here at Cobham."
"He’s in the squad tomorrow and it would be nice if he can get some minutes, in particular over these next two Champions League games."
"He has a great attitude and will compete with the rest of the midfielders. I see him coming back at the level just before he got injured, he made a great impact and there will be so much more to come from him at this club, just because of the sheer talent he has."
"Billy has a great attitude, he trains really well and he’s looking spot-on, so he comes into the squad to compete with the other players in that midfield area."
