Former Fulham striker Darren Bent has warned Arsenal over sacking head coach Mikel Arteta despite recent poor results.
Arsenal yet again suffered another defeat to Wolves at home on Sunday and Bent has warned the club against sacking Arteta. The 2-1 loss meant the north London side has now suffered lost five of their ten Premier League games this season and are now 14th on the log.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Bent said, "It doesn’t look good. Listen, I’m still 100 percent behind Arteta. I want to put that out there as people keep asking, ‘do you think we should get rid of Arteta?’. Absolutely not.
"You can’t keep chopping and changing managers when the situation gets bad. At some point, you need to stick to a manager."
"There have been some great times in his short reign at Arsenal – he’s won us a trophy. At the minute Arsenal isn’t playing very well, but I still believe 100 percent he’s the man to get Arsenal out of this slump."
Unai Emery was sacked by Arsenal last year December when the club was eighth on the log, having accumulated 18 points from 13 opening matches. Arteta will need two wins from the next three matches to ensure he betters the start Emery had last time that saw him sacked.
