Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is still keen on signing Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
There were reports that both clubs were in serious talks in the summer about the player but a deal wasn’t agreed with Spurs baulking at Inter's asking price.
Football Insider now claims that Mourinho could go back for the 25-year-old in January as they don’t expect Inter to cling on the £40m price tag they had in the summer.
After missing on signing Skiniar, Spurs went on to rope defender Joe Rodon from Swansea City for an £11million fee rising to £15m but despite the Wales international solid performance against Chelsea last weekend, Spurs feel that they need another player in the position to boost their options.
There are reports that Mourinho is already looking for a replacement for Toby Alderweireld as he is expected to be out of action for some time; other sources saying the Belgian might be out for more than the four-week layoff that had been reported earlier.
Another reason for going for the Slovakian is believed in Mourinho’s mistrust on Colombian Davinson Sanchez who has been frozen out of the team in recent weeks.
