Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed Thomas Partey will training with the rest of the teammates on Friday as the midfielder bids to prove fitness ahead of the Tottenham encounter.
Partey has been on the sidelines with an injury he picked up almost a month ago during Arsenal's 3-0 loss to Aston Villa. The summer signing once again missed the Gunners 4-1 victory over Rapid Vienna in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
"He’s putting a lot of pressure on us," said Arteta after the Vienna game.
"He’s training on Friday with us and let’s see how it goes in the next couple of days."
On the team's performance
"First of all, delighted to have fans back they make a huge difference. We had 2000 but they were loud and they were supportive to the team so thanks to them for coming and making the effort."
"The boys wanted it I could see from the start they wanted it, they were hurt from the previous game they showed the attitude and desire that is required. We were aggressive, we wanted to put the ball in the box we created chances. Now we have another one on Sunday."
The Gunners will travel to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday to take on Tottenham in a north London derby.
