MLS side DC United offers a lucrative deal for Mesut Ozil

America’s Major League Soccer side DC United has offered a lucrative deal for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

Ozil has fallen out of the pecking order at Arsenal after being omitted from their Premier League and Europa League squad and with many clubs salivating for his signature, Turkish broadcaster NTV Spor reports that the America side wants the player in the winter transfer.

Ozil who is Arsenal’s highest earner on £350,000 per week has his contract with the English side expiring in the summer with the report claiming that the 32-year-old is, has several offers from Italy, Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Ozil last played for the Gunners in a 1-0 win over West Ham on March 7, prior to the suspension of football due to the coronavirus pandemic and while the club fans have been mad about how the club has treated the player, Ozil has remained vocal about the club games on his social media handles where he has continually supported the team.

Arsenal has lacked creativity in the middle of the park and suffered their sixth defeat of the Premier League campaign last Sunday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat by north London rivals Tottenham.

They're currently in 15th place and have scored just 10 goals in 11 matches.
