AC Milan suffered their first loss of the season as they went down 3-1 at home to Serie A defending champions Juventus on Wednesday night.
Federico Chiesa scored a stunning brace with a goal in each half before Weston McKennie added a third late on, while Davide Calabria grabbed the hosts' consolation.
The eagerly anticipated match got off to a perfect start, with Andrea Pirlo's side the better of the two in the early exchanges.
It was no surprise when Chiesa gave them an 18th minute lead after a clever Paolo Dybala back-heel.
The hosts had to wait until the 41st minute to grab the equaliser, and it came courtesy of Calabria, who was forced to play out of position after Ante Rebić and Rade Krunić were ruled out of the match after testing positive for the COVID-19.
The match went into the break tied at 1-1, but Juventus came back the stronger of the two, and it did not take them long to restore their lead.
Chiesa, once again, found some space on the edge of the box before driving forward and unleashing a left-foot shot into the bottom right corner.
Here he shoots so wide to confuse the ACMILAN players thinking he was about to pass long and wide far to someone in the throw line, but it’s actually a pass to chiesa who controls it so beautifully and bang 💥 Goal . McKennie then added a third late on as the Bionceri serving the hosts a comprehensive defeat, their first in 27 games this season.
Despite the loss, Milan are still atop the Serie A standings on 37 points, one ahead of Inter Milan, who suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Sampdoria.
Juve, on the other hand, remains fourth on 30 points but could move to third on 33 if they win their match at hand.
