Man United's Paul Pogba reflects on Carabao Cup exit

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba says defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final must inspire his side to further improvements.

United suffered their fourth straight defeat in the semi-final following a 2-0 loss to City and Pogba admits the frustrations of small details are costing the Red Devils. Last season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men were eliminated from the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, and Europa League in the semi-final stage.

Following a goalless draw in the first half, John Stones and Fernandinho were on the score sheet leaving Solskjaer's men on wait for the first trophy under the Norwegian.

"Of course (it is disappointing) because it's not the first one as well against City at home," Pogba said after the game.

"We are disappointed with the result, obviously, with the two goals from set-pieces. And after you know it can go both ways. We lost today and it's not the first one like I said.

"It's very annoying to lose because there's always a trophy behind all of this and we have to do better. We have to do better for sure."

United will now put their focus on the FA Cup when they take on Watford this Saturday at Old Trafford.
