Enyimba head coach Fatai Osho is taking the blame following his side elimination from the CAF Champions League.
Enyimba were knocked out of the tournament following a 2-1 loss to El Merreikh in the first leg with the return leg ending 3-0 in favor of the Sudanese side, resulting in a 4-2 aggregate loss. Osho admits it his him to blame for the exit and not the players.
"The blame is on me, I take responsibility for the result, if the team had won, the fans would have been clapping for me and if the team fail to do well, the fans will go against me," he said as quoted by the brila.net.
"But look at the chances we created and the saves their goalkeeper made, you have to give credit to the goalkeeper; he had a good day."
"We didn’t score in their home, we scored two here but unfortunately their early goal weakened us," he said.
Enyimba have now dropped to the CAF Confederation Cup and will face either Rivers United or Bloemanfontein in the playoff round.
