New Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is eager to get started at the club after arriving at the Aon Training Complex on Wednesday.
The Ivorian arrived at the club last week, months after Man United reached an agreement with Italian side, Atalanta, over his signing.
The teenager had to wait for his visa to be approved and has now linked up with Ole Gunnar's team where he has signed a contract to the end of June 2025, with the option of an extra year.
In his first interview with the club, Diallo expressed his pleasure at joining, saying he's looking forward to start playing.
“I’m over the moon to be here,” said Amad as quoted by the club's official website. “I’m so excited to start here at Manchester United. It’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to start and play with the guys.”
He then reflected on the last few months when he was still at Atalanta, despite the two sides having reached an agreement over his sale.
“It’s been a little bit strange these last few months,” says Diallo. “I would have hoped to have played a little bit more with Atalanta, but it wasn’t possible.
“Now I’m here and I’m very happy to be here. I’m expecting a lot from my experience here and I’m looking forward to starting.”
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the Ivorian will first get some action with the youth team, before being gradually integrated into the senior team.
“He joins in the training with the first team and gets settled in. Then we need to give him match-time. First team or Under-23s, we’re not going to be able to say now. Let’s see how he takes to it. You’ve got kids who just come in and tell us, as staff, that they’re ready for the difficult games,"
