Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma has set the eyes on the title while warning his side not to rest.
United have started the current Nigeria Premier League campaign on a good note and lie at the top of the standings with nine points. The Pride of Rivers suffered their first defeat of the season to Wikki Tourist on Wednesday evening following a 1-0 loss.
"Our target is to win the league but for now it’s not yet on our side. It is not yet time for us to determine. The league is still young so we will be taking games, game after game, and then until we get to a stage when we will say yes, we are winning the league," he told the press.
"We are not going to be boastful because we know it’s the game of football but we will try our best to ensure that we maintain our winning streak," he added.
Rivers will now put their focus on their next league game when they host Heartland at Yakubu Gowon Stadium Port Harcourt on Sunday in NPFL matchday 5.
