Sought-after French central defender Dayot Upamecano is expected to stay at RB Leipzig for another six months.
The 22-year-old defender, who is reportedly wanted by the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, is not expected to leave Leipzig in the current window, but will instead be available for up to €42m come the summer.
“RB Leipzig are not considering selling their centre-back Dayot Upamecano this month even though he can leave in the summer for a cut-price €42m (£37.4m),” the Guardian reported.
“The 22-year-old Frenchman has a release clause that comes into effect in the summer but it is way below his market value so several clubs have asked Leipzig whether a January deal would be possible,” added the report.
Meanwhile, Leipzig are placed second in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich with two points.
