Spanish midfielder Juan Mata is being targeted by Laliga side Valencia after it emerged that he is considering his future at Manchester United.
Mata has found games hard to come by and according to La Razon, the player feels he can still play in the top league with a return to Spain a possibility.
Mata is out of contract at United in the summer and according to the reports, Valencia owner Peter Lim has welcomed the signing of the former Spanish international on a free transfer.
Mata who only made a total of 19 Premier League appearances last season played for Valencia between 2007 and 2011 before moving to Chelsea. But Mata may reject Lim's advances due to the owner's lack of popularity at the club.
The 32-year old however will want some assurance from the club owner after it was reported that they gave their players IOU notes in August 2020 because they could not afford to pay them.
The team is also at risk of being relegated from LaLiga for the first time since 1986 and Mata would want to know their fate before deciding to sign for them or not.
