Pogba right wing position in Liverpool draw explained

Paul Pogba role in their Sunday scoreless draw against Liverpool has been explained by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Pogba started on the right-wing for the first time in his Man United career and according to Solskjaer they had a plan for the game and the Frenchman position suited him.

“Paul’s position was something that we thought was going to suit him to play there today and I thought it showed because Paul was excellent and he should have had the winner maybe," Solskjaer said after the game.

On the game, the Norwegian admitted that they didn’t play well in the first half but grew as the agme went on as he hailed his team’s defensive abilities.

"We didn’t play well in the first half at all. And yeah, we grew more and more into the game. It takes time sometimes when you go away to difficult places like this against a good team to impose yourself on the game.

"We didn’t do well enough to cause them problems in the first-half but we defended well and you didn’t really feel that they were going to cause us, or they didn’t cause us too many problems, either,” he added.

The win consolidates United’s lead at the top of the Premier League and they will hope they can return to winning ways when they take on Fulham in their next league tie.
