Sokratis' contract with Arsenal has been terminated on mutual consent, the north London club has confirmed.
Arsenal have canceled Sokratis' contract that will allow him to move to another club. The Greek international signed for the Gunners in 2018 from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.
"Working closely with Sokratis and his team, we have decided to cancel his contract by mutual consent," a statement from the club read.
Arsenal's Technical director Edu thanked Sokratis, "On behalf of Mikel, our coaches, players, and everyone at the club, I would like to thank Papa for his contribution to the club.
"He has been an important part of our group and has been a model professional throughout. The negotiations to end his contract have been collaborative and we wish Papa and his family well for the future."
Since signing for the north London club, Sokratis has made 69 appearances, winning the FA Cup last season.
As reported by Sky Italia, Sokratis is attracting interests from Real Betis, Sevilla, and Genoa.
