Laliga giants FC Barcelona have been given a chance to sign Sergio Aguero from Manchester City.
City is yet to offer the Argentine a new deal despite his contract coming to an end this summer with rumors rife that the club would only do so if the player can prove his fitness in the second half of the season.
Aguero has been linked with a move away from the club with PSG among the teams said to be interested in his services but according to a report published by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona stands a good chance of signing the player.
It is believed that the good relationship between Aguero and Barca captain Lionel Messi could be a vital cog in the transfer with the Laliga side open to the acquisition of the player since he will arrive on a free.
The Catalans are yet to replace Luis Suarez whom they sold to Atletico Madrid over the summer and with Lautaro Martinez links having cooled, Barca might turn their attention to Aguero as they seek to address their sluggish striking department.
Aguero will arrive at the club with some pedigree having scored 180 goals in 284 matches for City while also netting 41 goals for the Argentine national team.
It is expected that the team will revamp in the summer with Dutch duo of Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum and Manchester City Eric Garcia all expected to move to the club later this year.
