English Premier League side Arsenal are in the market for a left-back as they seek cover for Kieran Tierney.
There are reports that the Mikel Arteta side wants players who have expiring contracts with Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell all mentioned as possible candidates for the position according to the Evening Standard.
The deals are expected to happen in the summer as Arsenal feels that Cedric Soares is a good cover at left-back too despite being brought in to provide competition for Hector Bellerin at right-back.
Bertrand or Mitchell will be free agents in the summer unless they are convinced by their clubs to sign new deals before then. The duo is homegrown talents too so that would be an attractive piece of business for Arsenal who, just like any other club, are trying to have more homegrown talents in their ranks.
Bertrand is stalling in contract talks with his club as he looks for his other options with Arsenal willing to pounce on the opportunity.
