Arsenal will fight Barcelona for the services of Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Garcia has strongly been linked with a return to Barcelona in the summer but the latest reports from Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners have joined the race to sign the Spanish international.
Apart from the two clubs, it was reported last week that PSG was looking to hijack a move with Mauricio Pochettino keen on signing him having watched him grow in the Premier League when he was Tottenham's boss.
There have been reports that Pochettino is very close with the Spain international's representative, Ivan de la Pena, and could hijack the deal if a serious interest is shown by the Ligue 1 giants.
The latest Arsenal links come with claims that Mikel Arteta values the player having worked in developing the player when he was Pep Guardiola's assistant at City before leaving them to become Gunners boss in December 2019.
Garcia reportedly won't rule out any potential move but is favoring a return to boyhood club Barcelona, where he came through the ranks between 2008 and 2017 before departing for England.
The 20-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract with City and has failed to ink a new deal. While a summer free move will be a good deal for his suitors, City might be forced to let go of the player this January for a fee of around £4.4million.
