Liverpool issue statement on Harvey Elliott fee decision

Liverpool have confirmed they have received communication from the Professional Football Compensation Committee regarding the registration of Harvey Elliott.

The Reds were ordered to pay Fulham a record compensation fee for a 16-year-old, whom they signed in 2019.

In a statement, the Reds said;

“Liverpool Football Club respects the outcome of the PFCC’s fair and thorough process in this matter.

“We would like to thank the panel for their time and diligence in reaching a decision.

“We now look forward to welcoming Harvey back from his loan spell with Blackburn Rovers in the summer and helping him continue to build towards a long and successful career at Anfield.”

Liverpool are now set to pay an initial £1.5m, and a further payment of £200,000 will be due when he signs his second professional deal.

This award is a record amount for a 16-year-old player, and Fulham have indicated 'they are very pleased with the decision'.
